Hello there, you’ve stumbled upon my blog. Welcome! My name is Elodie Kwan. I’m a California native, recently returned from working in Nanyuki, Kenya. From San Francisco to Boston to Madrid to Nanyuki, I’ve falling in love with the world and strive every day to be a citizen of the world. I’ve learned, grown, and had my fair share of ups and downs on my global adventures.
As you’ll learn in my pieces, my sister is my best friend, soul sister, and mentor. She and I embark on annual sister trips, reconnecting, growing, and pushing each other to be the best versions of ourselves each and every day. We’ve wandered South America (but really we only barely grazed the surface), adventured around Eastern Europe, and travelled from East Africa down to Southern Africa, chasing stars and gawking at wildlife along the way.
So I wouldn’t call this a travel blog per se since you won’t be finding any where to’s or how to’s on here. I don’t give travel advice on how to enter Putin’s Russia without a visa or where to go off the grid in Cuba (but I can of course if you are so inclined to ask because honestly those where some of my favorite adventures). What you’ll find in here instead is a collection of my thoughts throughout my travels. Pieces inspired by my experiences being a solo female traveller, pieces on what it’s like to return home and feeling more lost than ever before, and overall words of encouragement for anyone and everyone who is considering jetting off out into the world.
So please, wander around here and out in the world. I’ve caught the travel bug and I can’t seem to shake it. I hope you do too and I hope one day our paths cross out in the world. Adventure is out there!
